Since 2014 we have competed in the Southern Counties Vets track and field league during the summer months. This is held at various venues in Kent and makes a welcome change from road and cross country races and allows members to compete both in a full range of field and track events.
Our men's team has stayed rooted mid table in division 2 whilst the ladies seem to split their time between the top flight and division 2!
Dates and venues for the 2020 season are as follows:
Monday 11th May - Bromley
Monday 15th June - Gillingham
Monday 6th July - Ashford
Friday 17th July - Erith
Friday 31st July - Tonbridge
Friday 7th August - Dartford

Kent Fitness League
The Kent Fitness League originated in the early 80's under the guise of the Today's Runner League and has grown over the years' and currently has 18 competing clubs and attracts fields in excess of 500 runners. Races are held throughout Kent and since 2001 we have held a KFL race at Swanley Park. The league is unique in so much as male and female athletes run together and "elite" athletes are banned from competing.
The 2019/20 season was a little shorter than normal as Deal was out of action and a winter storm put paid to Canterbury. We made a clean sweep of 16th place in the league throughout all the team competitions though.
Jane Blackmore edged a little closer to 100 races (according to the official results) with 96 but Peter Godbee isn't too far behind with 91.
